Welcome to our crazy holiday fun-filled December!! A little late posting, but better than never! This picture about sums up the season. Crazy, fun and never a dull moment!
So in the weeks leading up to Christmas Eva and I made a few of our favorite candies. As you can see in some of the photos the boys helped too.
As you can see Wyatt wanted to help with the making of out peanut butter balls.
All three of them did some QC and I am happy to report they were fantastic.
Of course licking of the spoons and bowls is a necessity.
This year I let go of my inner perfectionist and allowed Eva to scoop the peanut butter balls. I realized it is the memories she will have making the candy with me that will be far better than a perfectly round piece of candy.
I still think they look pretty good for a five year old!
Nightly we opened a Christmas book and we all read it together. The boys really loved this!
We went again this year to see the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train. It was great, last year we went to Buffalo and it was dark when the train rolled in which I have to say is way cooler. But this year due to crazy one year olds and sicknesses we chose to stay closer to home and see it in Loretto.
There was free cookies and hot cocoa!
Molly, Deron and Zane even joined us this year.
All bundled up to stay warm and cozy!
Sugar cookies were the last ones to be made! Everyone got in on rolling and cutting them.
I did not get photos of us making all our candy. But here is what we all made.
Pumpkin Nut cups – delicious, its like a mini pumpkin/pecan pie
Peanut butter balls – just like Reese’s
Fleur De Sel Caramels – although this year they are more like toffee – note for next year or those with small kids…do not make when you have all three kids to yourself and one is sick
